More than 11,000 personal have been deployed throughout South West by Zonal 'F' command of Nigeria Security and Civil defense Corps to ensure security of lives and properties during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Bulk of the deployment which is about 7,120 are meant to cover Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states while the the remaining 4,108 will be distributed in Ondo, Ekiti, and Osun state commands.
According to the Zonal Commander, Assistant commandant General (ACG ) Popoola Abdul- Waheed Bamidele, the deployment is meant to compliment that of other security agencies. In a statement signed by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSC Kareem Olanrewaju explained the deployment is to be effected immediately to ensure adequate Security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Kareem noted the Zonal commander during Zone 'F' and 'A' briefing yesterday direct the state commandants under the Zones to ensure immediate compliance with the order adding that, each of them to ensure itch free festival by deploying to strategic places and areas that are prone to vandalism.
The ACG therefore urged people to celebrate with caution and as well Adviced them to do things in moderation. Members of the public are as such implored, to monitor their children especially outside their homes and take care of their personal belongings.
