The former President, Olusegun Obasanjo first daughter, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, threatened that she would waste no time in taking the necessary legal action against the source of her purported insulting letter to her father.
Iyabo Obasanjo, who was reacting to the controversial letter, denied writing any insulting letter to her father.
According to a news source, Iyabo vehemently denied having anything to do with an act she described as being “against the Yoruba Tradition and Culture.”
She instead accused the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan’s men as the probably authors.
She argued that if President Jonathan had wanted to reply the letter, which her father wrote to him, he should be a man enough to reply him directly.
She wondered why they were trying to make her a scapegoat, adding that she knew her father very well and would not question his judgment.
She believed her father wrote his letter to former President Goodluck Jonathan in the best interest of the nation.
She argued that if Mr. President (Jonathan) disagreed with some of the allegations in the letter, let him be man enough to talk directly to her father and stop involving her in an issue she knows nothing about.
She pointed out that she could not have written a letter to insult her father, reiterating that as a daughter and a Yoruba woman, she respected her parents in all circumstances
Reacting to the fake letter against her father, Iyabo Obasanjo further stated that she had never seen or heard this sort of fabrication in her entire life and would never have contemplated writing such to her loving father.
She disclosed that she was speaking with him almost on daily basis and concluded that Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo was the best father in the world.
She said, “He gave birth to me; he raised me up and gave me the best of education. I wouldn’t have achieved whatever I did without my father. In fact, WHO AM I WITHOUT MY FATHER? As a father, he never disappoints his children in anyway; he is a father anybody wishes to have.”
Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo advised Nigerians to please note that the purported letter was a malicious lie intended to rubbish the good name of her family.
