A member representing Ogun Waterside State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Adeyemi Harrisson has refuted publications of an interview he allegedly granted in some online national dailies, describing it as frivolous and unfounded.

Harrison, who spoke shortly after a member representing Yewa South State Constituency, Hon . Julianah Akintayo raised a point order number 59 (4b) directing Harisson to clear air on the said interview where he purportedly stated that the 2018 Appropriation Act was fraught with duplications and that figures were frivolously manipulated during the consideration by the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation and its final approval by the Assembly.
The lawmaker, who spoke at the Plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, stressed that the report was a figment of the imagination of the writers and urged his colleague-lawmakers to discountenance it.
Responding, Adekunbi, who sustained the order, put the record straight that the 2018 Appropriation bill was critically scrutinised by legislators who were not only professionals in their various fields but tested lawmakers who had worked on budget presentations and defence in past years.
He said that due process was followed concerning the 2018 budget passage, affirming that it was done in the best interest of the people of the State to further aid the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the State.
The Speaker charged Hon. Harrison to take necessary action by correcting the bad impression given to the public through the unfounded publications by ensuring a publication of a rejoinder as soon as possible in at least a national daily.
