The leaders of the Middle-Belt has failed us in furthering the socio-economical development of our region and our share of political relevance at the national level.
It is indeed Sad that we command an array of retired Generals ,high ranking members of the Armed Forces, elder statesmen, business moguls, religious and traditional rulers but we are daily prone to attacks by herdsmen, terrorists, kidnappers and criminals without any counter measures on our part to stem the tide of killings in our villages, communities and our farmlands.
Out rightly, the Golden silence and inactions of our leaders sends the wrong signal of an ill-conspiracy or as some will say it seems some are benefitting from the circle of violence and Insurgency as it has since been commercialised.
Gospel truth is..."OUR LEADERS IN THE MIDDLE-BELT HAVE FAILED US".
You see the problem. With the middle belt is that we seem to put all our eggs in one basket and it has not worked and it will not work... Go online and check comments from the far North, South West etc and spot the difference...
They spread their tentacles to various parties so that at the end they will not loose out, But we are quick to condemn ours who have varying opinions along political lines,We play sectional politics of sentiments and emotions while they play politics of participation, calculation and numbers... Let's have a rethink.
What I have resolved a long time not to do is to politick along religious lines as it only breeds hate, suspicion and loss of lives and properties.
I will never use ethnicity, tribalism and utter hate for a person because of where they come from or the party they affiliatie with.
Let us raise issues, let's have our people in the ruling party and opposition as democracy can never thrive without credible opposition.
But opposition Should not use hate speech, religion and ethnic card to sway the gullible as that is counter productive, breeding a nation full of hate and unforgiven human beings.
We have to define our existence as a people in the Middlebelt.
Certainly our leaders have failed us in the middle belt as they always use the struggle to negotiate their political relevance and to secure federal appointments. That is not the heritage and the true ideals of the middle-belt people.
We are the determining factor in the general voting pattern of the country and the unity of Nigeria , let's use our strength in doing the needful, it is time to stop the pity party, it is time to stop blaming a particular tribe, ethnic group or people as our predicament...
We are warriors, we are farmers, we are intellectuals and we are good people, when we unite from Plateau to Benue, Kogi to Kwara, Nassarawa to Southern Kaduna then nobody born of a woman can infiltrate our borders to unleash mayhem on our villages and community.
If it is true that there is an ethnic cleansing plan or jihadist movement, then let us also unite and declare the middle belt movement to counter such and chart our own vision for our region.
A house divided against itself cannot stand attacks from the enemy both within and outside, but a United house will be difficult for the enemy to penetrate.
Let's get active, let's register, let's mobilize, let's beleong to the top political parties so that we are not relegated to the back ground in the scheme of things.
THE MIDDLE-BELT CRAVES FOR PARTICIPATORY AND PROACTIVE LEADERSHIP, WHO WILL LEAD US? WHO WILL TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORN?
