The Ogun State Commander of Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Commander Adedoyin Olanrewaju Nureni, have appealed to the members of the public to disregard the rumor of killing one Mr. Ayodeji otherwise known as “Solution” by a member of Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Ijebu Igbo, Oke Sopin, Ogun State last week.
You will recalled that, an online newspaper recently reported that, a personnel of the VGN attached to the commercial dried animal skin leather at Oke-Sopin in Ijebu-Igbo killed an okada rider for marching on the dried Ponmo meat.
But the Ogun Vigilante boss explained that, no member of the Vigilante Group was attached to any dried meat skin leather in Ijebu-Igbo.
Adedoyin in a press release on Monday in Abeokuta explained that Ogun State Command does not have any personnel serving as a security guard for any dried skin leather merchant At Ijebu Igbo, Oke Sopin.
He however, described the officers and members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria as law abiding who discharge their duty according to the tenets of the law.
“We hold it a duty to boldly say that, the claimed Vigilante man is not a member of the vigilante group of Nigeria, Ogun State command and that we do not have any of our personnel serving as a security guard for any dried skin leather merchant at Ijebu-Igbo, Oke-Sopin to be precise.
“According to our findings the true happening of the event was that the deceased was a bike man rider who usually come to supply dried leather skin to the woman merchant who untimely had an argument with a security man who works for a private security guard company and not Vigilante Group of Nigeria.
“Vigilante Group of Nigeria are not arms bearer for now as we obey all fundamental human rights laws and directives from the Nigeria Police Force who is the mother of all existing security agencies.
“We also want to use opportunity to restate that, we the officers and men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria are law abiding and carry out our duty according to tenets of the law and to call the attention of the public, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria are not arms bearer for now as we obey all fundamental human rights laws and directives from the Nigeria Police Force who is the mother of all existing security agencies.”
