The newly elected member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Olaifa Jimoh Aremu, has
condemned the unfortunate fracas that engulfed Iwoye and its environs in the
last few hours with lives reported to have been lost and several other residents
injured.
Hon Olaifa who is representing Yewa North/Imeko Afonmade this known in a press release from his media office this afternoon pleaded with the
residents to desist from taking the law into their hands in the face of
provocations from immigrant Fulanis that have polluted the serenity of Iwoye
Ketu where the Ohoris and Fulanis have co-existed peacefully over many
years.
Hon. Olaifa popularly called OJA also enjoins the security
operatives and law enforcement Agents to restore peace and tranquility in the ancient town and the entire Imeko Afon
local government.
While condoling
with the families of the deceased and the injured, he also concluded with an
assurance that necessary legislation shall be worked upon at the green chamber
to forestall possible future occurrence of similar attack with particular
reference to Fulani herdsmen menace and other border towns invasions.
