The immediate former governor of Ogun State , senator Ibikunle Amosun who was sworn in as the governor of Ogun State in 2011 completed his eight years in power .
The people of Ogun State were full of hopes and aspirations when he got to power in 2011 because then they were tired of the then PDP . And therefore they all voted for change hoping the tenure of governor Ibikunle Amosun will transform their lives .
The workers on the other hands trooped out to vote for governor Ibikunle Amosun whom they see as their Messiah then . But four years after he got to power , the workers in the state started trading blames for voting for him . In fact , he was normally called civilian military man because of how he single handedly dealt with NUT chairman popularly called Ambali .
Amosun promised the people of Ogun State to turn the state to paradise by giving them good roads across the state . Therefore , this made many to even volunteer their houses for demolition to give room for development . Many of the areas where these demolition took place are still in poor state because the purpose of the demolition was defeated .
The eight years of governor Ibikunle Amosun according to some people is not a blessing to the state but a curse considering the abandoned projects he left behind .
First , the road from rounder in Abeokuta has not reach a final stage before the governor finished his tenure in office . Tata - Ijoun to Ilashe which is around 102 kilometers according to the then commissioner for works , Architect Adegbite ,still in bad shape .
Sang Ijoko to Agbole Berger is nothing but fruitless exercise . senator Ibikunle Amosun took the vice president to this road and they commissioned it . In fact , many are still amazed while government will commissioned uncompleted projects .
The people of Ogun State cannot forget in a hurry how the governor started the construction of 25 model colleges across Ogun state . In fact , many of the building today have been taking over by bush while criminal use some it for hide out . The one in Ifo Local Government and Ado Odo has not seen the light of the day .
Agbara in Ogun state houses many international companies but the road to Agbara is in a deplorable and despicable conditions . Despite , the huge amount of IGR the government generates from this axis , it has no positive effects on their roads instead large percentage of the money were used to construct bridges in Abeokuta .
Ogun West will continue to remember Senator Ibikunle Amosun for bad because the eight years of the governor made the region poorer than how he met . No positive economy can take place where there is no good roads . Such is the case of the people of Ogun West .
