The
academic staff members of Ogun State College of Health Technology (OGSCOHTECH),
Ilese-Ijebu, says allegation levelled against its Provost, Dr. Abiodun
Oladunjoye is totally malicious, unfunded and a bit to scuttle the academic
calendar of the college.
The Dean,
Students Affairs, Mr. Agboola Olayinka stated this at a peaceful protest
stagged within the college campus to show a solidarity support for the Provost
of the College, noting that only five to six aggrieved members of the College
with bad records were after the Provost.
The protest
which involved over fifty lecturers under the aegis of "Concerned Academic
Staff" of OGSCOHTECH, carrying placards bearing different inscription,
such as, "No case of embezzlement shown by the annual audit report ",
"petitioners are detractors with intents to destroy the school",
"our salaries are constant", "We run an uninterrupted academic
calendar", and many more.
He alleged
that Mr. Akinyele Cyril Babasope, Mr. Ojure Mujitaba, Mr. Anisere Dele Ismail,
Mr. Kuku Mukail Adeoye, Mr. Abiodun Sunday Abiodun and Mr. Nwokolo Raymond were
behind the allegation written to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and
the state House of Assembly, lobbying for the number one position of the
college with their fake certificate.
He alleged
that those people have been indicted by an Oloko's administrative panel of
inquiry set up to investigate allegation of certificate forgery,
misappropriation of fund and raping of some female students of the institution
among others.
He said it
was imperative to revisit the the Oloko's administrative panel of inquiry to
unveil their misdeeds, so as to let them realise that they were qualified for
the position they were aspiring for, noting that it would cause more harms if
the government refuse to summon them and account for their misdeeds and
anomalies while lecturing in the institution.
Also, the
Director of Students Industrial Works Experience Scheme (SIWES), Mr. Salako
Sikiru said that it was pathetic that those involved were not genuine staff of
the college, adding that it was embarrassing and annoying to realise that those
unscrupulous elements which add no value to the college could involved in such
mischievous act.
He
wondered how could the management get the some of Ten Million purportedly
mentioned in their petition, noting that the college could not do anything
without reporting to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which
is the supervising Ministry.
He added
that non of the courses being run by the institution without proper
accreditation, stressing that the academic regulatory agencies has always
carried our its periodical re accreditation of courses in the college and no
record of owing workers' salaries and other entitlements.
In the
same vein, the Dean, School Of Environmental Health Science, Dr. Soyingbe Azeez
said that the institution always follow due process in spending fund, saying
that all the allegation was only targeted at the reappointment of the Provost
of the College for second term which has nothing to do with anybody.
"Indeed, no staff of the college could allege the Provost of
misappropriation of fund, because all money is always spending judiciously and
with the directive of the supervising Ministry, how then could the Provost
withdraw money without its supervising Agency." Azeez said
He then
appealed to the State government to rise up the plight of the college and
revisit the Oloko's panel report of the institution with the view to sanitise
the college, otherwise those bad elements would continue to tarnish the image
of the institution.
He said
that the step becomes imperative so as to redeem the image of the institution
and reposition the college's standard, particularly the future of the students
whose future may be affected by the lies, falsehood and fabrication in their petition.
