The Ministry of Agriculture Team today, Monday, 23rd March 2020, visited Apojula Village in Odeda Local Government Area, where large hectares of land are being cleared for Cassava farmers who subscribed for the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme in Ogun State.
The Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Adeola Odedina in company of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Dotun Sorunke, the Chairman Anchor Borrowers’ Programme Steering Committee, Prof. Bola Okuneye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. (Mrs) Angel Adelaja-Kuye and Project Manager, Ogun State Agricultural Development Project (OGADEP), Mrs Taiwo Ayansanwo, told pressmen that such land clearance was on-going simultaneously in the other two Senatorial Districts of the State and would benefit young farmers who have registered for Cassava Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, but are without land.
He added that so far, the scheme has linked farmers with training, funds, industries, assured markets and sufficient raw material, as the Ogun State Government is targeting industrial revolution and job creation through Cassava Value Chains.
