OGUN STATE RECEIVES AWARD FOR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT/INTERNATIONAL FUND FOR AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT (IFAD) VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (VCDP) ACTIVITIES
Today, Thursday, 26th November, 2020, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, presented awards to Ogun State and eight other participating States of the FGN/IFAD Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP), in recognition of the outstanding performances in Rice and Cassava Value Chain Activities. His Excellency was ably represented by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono.
The presentation took place at the 2nd National Workshop on Commodity Alliance Forum (CAF) held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The focus was on Cassava crop with the theme “Enhancing Productivity and Market Opportunities for Cassava Value Chain Development”
In a goodwill message, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, reiterated the commitment of the State to maintain the lead in Cassava Production in Nigeria, and Rice in South Western Nigeria. His Excellency, who was praised for Ogun State’s up to date payment of counterpart fund in VCDP, assured Mr President of continued support of the State Government to FGN/IFAD VCDP and other Federal Government Agricultural Initiatives in the State.
