The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has conveyed its condolences to the people of Ilesha Baruba in Baruten Local Government Area of the state over the casualties recorded during the violent confrontation involving some residents of community and operatives of the Federal Government’s Joint Task Force on Border Patrol, on Friday.
The APC in statement issued on Saturday said the party was deeply grieved by the sad incident, which cut short the lives of dynamic and hardworking Nigerians who were contributing to the social and economic growth of the state and the nation at large.
"The APC mourns. We are deeply pained. Our hearts and prayers go out to the bereaved and the wounded. Indeed, we share in their pains and pray God to give them and the entire state the fortitude to bear the loss.
"The incident should be properly investigated with a view to ending such civilian army clash in our nation," the party said.
The party also commiserated with Emir of Ilesha Baruba Prof. Halidu Abubakar and and the immediate families of the deceased while praying for speedy recovery for the wounded.
