Women politicians in Irepodun Local Government Area have protested against the call for cancellation of party members' Registration and Revalidation exercise being advocated by Alh. Lai Mohammeed, Minister of Information and Culture recently.
They affirmed that Alh. Abdullahi Samonri is the party's state chairman, denouncing Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa's claim to the position.
The Deputy Chief of Staff, Princess Bukola Babalola, who spoke on theme: "The Role of Women in Advancing Good Governance" enjoined all to support the government of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Princess Babalola praised the governor for his love for the women, for giving many appointments to women. She enjoined Kwara women to continue their support for the governor and stand by him always.
She assured that more empowerment and dividends of democracy would come their way and that Kwara will step up under Governor Abdulrazaq.
Hajia Mutiat Taiye Omotoso who spoke on behalf of the women to welcome party stalwarts, leaders and members, said Lai Mohammed is antithetical to Kwara politics and his moves inimical to progress, that is why he was saying he didn't know how materials for registration/revalidation got to Kwara state.
"It is a pity why he has turned himself to a detractor in the state. What else does he want? He is Minister of the Federal Republic while his son is a serving lawmaker in Lagos state. It is better he return to where he had come, that is where he is used to, that is where he directs all benefits from his office," We Kwara Women hereby call on Alhaji Lai Mohammed to resign from office as Honorable Minister with immediate efforts" she remarked.
Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi thanked the women for standing by the governor adding that "no reasonable government would undermine the women. Gov AA values you, the women so much."
The event, which took place at the open field of the SDA School, Omu Aran, headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area, had women turned out in large number from the seven local government areas of kwara South senatorial district of the state. They danced jubilantly as they sang in praise of the governor for his untiring efforts in taking Kwara to higher pedestal.
Other topnotch APC members who attended the women's rally were Hon. Olayemi Olabanji, Prince Shuaib Olarewaju, Hon. Tayo Awodiji, Hon Iliasu Ibrahim, Comrade Ben Duntoye, Iyalaje of Irepodun amongst others.
