The government of Osun State has rebuked the killings of six family members at Wasinmi village in the Irewole Local Government Area in the state.
Recall that newsmen has earlier reported that some unknown gunmen, early Sunday morning, today invaded Wasinmi village, killing six herdsmen.
National Trumpet gathered that some of the gunmen opened fire on six herders who were family members.
Benedict Alabi, Deputy Governor of the state after paying a condolence visit to the grieving family on Sunday, says the killings are disheartening and unfortunate.
The Deputy-Governor says the incident is a brutal assassination, stating that the actors would be brought under the full wrath of the law in no time.
Scores of families and leaders of the community received Alabi when he arrived in the community. While speaking, he reveals that the state government has directed that the perpetrators be fished out and brought to justice.
Osun Deputy Governor was in the company of Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebamiji and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mrs Abiodun Ige, on his visit to the community.
He employed the community members and citizens of the state at large to stay calm, adding that the government will continue to give good security to all parts of the state.
In his words, “This is a very unfortunate incident, and we are so sad about it as a government. It is shocking and strange to our communities.”
However, he asks the community members to help the security agents with useful information to apprehend the killers.
