The Inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Congress Committees for all the States of the Federation, held today at the Party's National Secretariat in Abuja.
The Party's Congress Committees were represented by their respective State Committee Chairmen.
The Congress Committees of the Party are delegated with the responsibility of conducting, supervising, monitoring and giving feedbacks to the Party on the outcome of the Ward Congresses in all States of the Federation.
National Secretary of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, performed the inauguration on behalf of the Party's National Chairman, H.E. (Hon) Mai Mala Buni.
Senator Akpanudoedehe also gave this brief Address, before inaugurating the Committees.
"On behalf of the National Chairman of the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of our Party, and Governor of Yobe State H.E. (Hon) Mai Mala Buni, I welcome you all to the National Secretariat of our great Party, and thank you for coming, despite the short notice.
"In continuation of the rebuilding and repositioning processes of our Party, our Ward Congresses to produce the Ward Executive Committees and the delegates at that level, will take place this Saturday, 31st July 2021 and you've been chosen to superintend over that Exercise.
"There's no doubt that within this room are the crème-de-la-crème of our Party; our first team for any competition .
"Therefore I urge you to keep the interest of the Party first and foremost within your hearts.
"The success of this Exercise depends so much on you.
"The unity of our Party also depends on the outcome; and the outcome essentially depends on your supervision of the issues and the overall conduct of the Exercise.
"Do not forget that the CECPC reserves the power to recall the team, or any of its members whose conduct is below expectation; afrerall, he who hires, can also fire.
"You've been urged to encourage concensus arrangements, where possible .
"Article 20 of our Party's Constitution and the Guidelines for the Congresses shall be your guide.
"Gentlemen and Ladies, let me state once again that your loyalty is to the Party; and you should be at your very best.
"You'll be given the necessary briefing and materials for the conduct of the Exercise
"I wish you the very best in this endeavour.
"May I also offer some words from our National Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, HE.Hon.Mai Mala Buni, for our Party faithfuls.
"He said that I should remind our Party members through this avenue, that a political Party is an organisation of persons who have subscribed to the ideals and rules of the group.
"Such rules include internal mechanisms for handling and solving disputes.
"Therefore the practice of running to the public space without exploring the internal mechanisms of conflict resolution is not available; and not only unhealthy, but an affront on the Constitution of the Party.
"So going forward, it should be stopped.
"This is a good place to end my address.
"On this note, may I please ask that you rise for inauguration.
"On behalf of the National Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of our great Party, I hereby inaugurate these Congress Committees for the good of our Party."
