The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended all political gatherings in the state, including all ward meetings, apparently to douse the intimidating atmosphere, which has characterized the nomination process.
A riotous uproar, chaos, violence had marred the nomination of candidates of the party in Kwara state.
As the former President of Senate and leader of the party, Dr. Bukola Saraki endorsed and presented nomination forms to his preferred candidates for various political positions across the state, flame of furry gutted every part of the state.
Party secretariats and property were destroyed, while people identified as source of anger were not spared of vile and unprintable comments, in one moment of communal madness within the Saraki dynasty.
The micro zoning of PDP's gubernatorial position to Edu/Pategi Local Government Areas, has also created more bad blood and disaffection among the aspirants who had earlier been subjected to non refundable payment of N20m each into a designated private account.
Meanwhile, only five aspirants paid the 20m, namely Hon Bawa Isa, Hon Bio Ibrahim, Prof Gana Isa, Hon Ahman Bahago and Hon Abubakar Sidiq .
According to a reliable source, this micro zoning was hatched in utmost secrecy, and laments what becomes of the N20m paid, when most of the aspirants have been schemed out without consultation, "it's more regrettable when it is discovered that our leader has not changed from the activities of imposition," he added.
This development has caused disaffection among aspirants who are not from the Edu/Pategi axis.
In order to puncture the above, one Musa Idris in a rejoinder on the social media said "The micro-zoning to Edu and Patigi LGAs was done by the PDP stakeholders from all the concerned LGAs in a democratic, open and transparent manner by the Members of PDP, not and never the Leader of the party (ABS). He only responsibly provided leadership and moderated the process."
The flame of furry over the choice of the former Leader of the House, in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Hassan Oyeleke, as candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal Constituency, gutted the Offa local party secretariat, as party faithful loyal to Hon Tope Olayonu Danlad aspirant for Kwara South Senatorial ticket, attacked the party office and destroyed properties.
The denial of Hon Olayonu Danlad party ticket to become the Senatorial candidate of PDP has now become a source of animosity, as party loyalists and angry touts paraded the streets of Offa, shouting "No more PDP," it became an instrument of vendetta to attack supposed enemies, which lead to blood shed and casualties who are now hospitalized.
