One of the foremost politician in Ogun state, Honourable Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu have apologized to the Lagos state House of Assembly speaker, Rt Hon Mudashir Obasa over alleged defamation.
Recall that, Ogunwoolu have recently alleged Obasa of sponsoring hoodlums to victimize him and his daughter over a land dispute.
In his retraction, Ogunwoolu said there was a misconception in the information at his disposal which made him fingered the Lagos speaker.
REFUTAL/RETRACTION
On the 8th Mach, 2024, I Hon. Prince Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu rushed to the Press through a Save Our Soul Press Release published and captioned “Ogun Politician alleged Lagos Speaker as using hoodlums to forcefully take possession of land/Save Our Soul from Lagos Speaker, Ogun Politician cry out”.
Sometimes in August, 2023, Royal Stream Oil and Gas Limited through an Agent which dropped the name of Rt. Hon. Mudashir Obasa as being the owner of the business name approached a Family at Isabo, Abeokuta for purchase of a Landed Property and to lease/purchase the adjourned Piece of Land from Abeokuta South Local Government, whereas I and my daughter were Tenants of Chief Rotimi, Oluwo of Kemta Township believed to be customary owners of the Land.
Trouble arose when the Agent of royal Stream Oil and Gas Limited came on the 7th March, 2024 and forcefully took possession of the Land, while properties of my daughter who is unavoidably absent were damaged, her staff forced out of the Land, forcefully sealed up her Shop, while the Agent and one other person on Motorcycle/Bike continued to threatened and trail my person.
It was this act that led to the Press Release and Publication after which it became known that Royal Stream Oil and Gas Limited Agent’s claim that Rt. Hon. Mudashir Obasa owns the Company became known as mere NAME DROPPING.
As a Muslim and a Public Figure, I realized the implication and effect of the publication might caused the Rt. Hon. Speaker, hence, I Hon. Prince Sharafadeen Ogunwoolu tender unreserved apology to the Rt. Hon. Mudashir Obasa for the publication, while I will no longer rely on such name dropping in future. I appeal and beg all well meaning people to help me appeal to Rt. Hon. Mudashir Obasa to tender justice with mercy and forgive me.
Signed:
Alhaji Hon. Prince A.S. Ogunwoolu
