The Main Auditorium of Victory Life Bible Church International, Life Cathedral, Victory City, was filled to capacity this Sunday, as dignitaries, friends and VLBC global family gathered for a Special Thanksgiving Service marking the end of events celebrating Reverend Fola Achudume's life, wife of the Lead Pastor, Apostle Lawrence Achudume.
The atmosphere was vibrant, with a large turnout, and colorful ambiance as Pastor Simeon Agbolabori of Chapel of Restoration delivered a sermon, and encouraged Nigerians to be hopeful of the afterlife, as death is just a transition.
He emphasized celebrating the departed's life, as there is indeed life after death.
Pastor Agbolabori also consoled the body of Christ, saying Reverend Fola Achudume didn't die due to church weakness or God's wickedness, but because her Creator wanted her back, and she rests in His bosom. He charged the church to stand strong and continue her legacy.
Speakers, including childhood friends, classmates, mentees, clergy, and family members, eulogized Reverend Fola Achudume, describing her as a rare breed who broke new grounds and was a rallying point.
They praised her kindness, soothing words, and absolute faith in God.
On his part, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, her widower, extolled her virtues, saying he rejoices in the Lord for an eventful life well spent.
He submitted that nobody can question God's actions, as He owes no one an explanation. "Follow God, no matter what; it's none of your business what God does; just follow Him wholeheartedly; He is unquestionable."
The service featured powerful worship sessions led by Lilian Nkeji and Ayan Jesu. Representatives from various organizations, community and religious leaders, and top government functionaries attended the well-attended thanksgiving service.
